The Episode

The story behind Cosmic Baseball.

Visit Mesa’s City Limitless podcast brought Cosmic Baseball founder Chris Martin and player and content creator Max Fries together for a conversation about blacklight baseball, the organization’s story, and its arrival in Mesa.

The three-person conversation explored how Cosmic Baseball combines sport and entertainment, and what bringing that experience to Arizona means for the community.

The Collaboration

Visit Mesa’s vision, supported by Voyage’s production.

Visit Mesa led the planning, selected the location, and coordinated the guests. Voyage worked directly with their team on camera angles and how to bring the episode’s vision to life on location.

Voyage handled filming, audio recording, and all post-production editing, bringing the camera coverage and sound together into a finished episode and social clips.

Voyage’s Role

Three cameras. Three voices.

01

Camera Setup

Working with Visit Mesa on three camera angles to cover the host and two guests while incorporating the location.

02

Filming & Audio

Recording the conversation with three audio inputs, giving each participant an individual input alongside the camera coverage.

03

Post-Production

Synchronizing the footage and audio, editing the full horizontal podcast, and creating four vertical clips for social media.

The Location & Setup

Mesa’s Neon Garden.

The episode was filmed at the Neon Garden at The Post in downtown Mesa, among historic neon signs from the city’s past. The location connected Mesa’s visual history with the episode’s blacklight baseball theme.

Voyage typically uses a two-person crew for these podcasts. A session generally takes two to three hours on site, including arrival, setup, filming, teardown, and departure.

The Deliverables

A full episode and four social clips.

The delivery included a full horizontal podcast of up to 30 minutes and four vertical clips for social media posts. The podcast was prepared for distribution through platforms including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube.

  • One full horizontal podcast, up to 30 minutes
  • Four vertical social media clips
  • Edited coverage from three camera angles
